Our Family Dairy Farm’s Humble Beginnings
The MilkwitchEast dairy farm started in 1983 when Albert Sr. and Mary Etta decided to follow their dream of operating a family dairy farm. MilkwitchEast was born with five Jersey cows, a small barn, and 50 grassy fields.
Over the years, the herd grew to over 200 happy, grass-fed Jersey cows. The old red barn was expanded, and the milking parlor was upgraded with the latest technology to ensure high quality and cleanliness. Still, some things never change – the cows continue to graze on green pastures and enjoy lazy days in the sun.
A Day in the Life of a MilkwitchEast Cow
The day starts early when the cows meander into the milking parlor. Once milked, they head to the pasture to munch on fresh grass and clover. You might spot them resting in the shade of the oak trees or drinking from the pond between meals.
In the evening, the cows return for another milking before settling into their stalls for a good night’s rest on clean bedding. The cycle then repeats as the sun rises over the farm. It’s a simple life full of comfort and care.
After milking, the fresh milk is tested and bottled on-site. Nothing is more satisfying than drinking a cold glass of milk from the cow just hours before!
